It has rained all night and most of the forenoon but it cleared up nicely. This being Sunday there is no drill and those not on duty have all day to rest. Seven men are on guard and fifteen on outpost. Services are held in the forenoon and evening at regimental headquarters. I worked in the morning and attended services at the Zorilla Theater in the evening where we heard that Frank Brain had died at 1:30 p.m. and was buried a few hours later without any ceremony on account of the disease he died from. Everything is quiet all over the city not withstanding yesterday’s reports. There are nine men on the sick book.
