Another fine day. Everything is reported quiet on the line. Seven men are on guard and eleven are on outpost. The “Amerikan” (newspaper) renews her assault on the Germans but the “Freedom,” which seems to take up with the Germans, says in plain English and says it’s a dirty lie and there seems to be a war between them. Five of the largest firms withdraw their advertising from the “Amerikan” and the paper advises soldiers to not patronize the same. Our mail came in late this evening but I didn’t receive any. Two men are in hospital and five in quarters.
