I have the most loathing disease known, I believe –the “dobe itch”– caused from being wet, clothes drying on the person, sleeping with wet boots & socks on &c &c –my legs are covered with itching sores, as large as my hands. I burn them with native soap, then rub on cocoanut oil.

Raining as usual. Slept all a.m., took bath in river in p.m., put on my dirty clothes again, and now it is 8.30 and must blow out candle.
