Hall with L. Co. made reconnaissance this morning to Lecheria Hill & S. & W. of same; discovered positions of various entrenchments, some new, and developed fire from 2 rebel guns in position near Sugar Mill 3750 yds from town (W.) He did no firing but about 30 shots were fired from our 3″ 2 doing excellent work. Lt Summerall comdg.
