Nov 17 15th We left Angeles, coming to San Fernando in boxcars. There are 3 companies of us here and the 25th (colored) were sent on North. This place is full of Natives & Chinas and stands & stores are everywhere. It rained nearly all day and everybodys stuff was wet. I went on guard, sitting in an old chimney at the sugarmill north of town.
