Nov. 29th 1899

That lost mail came in Monday. I had got nearly caught up with my letters but it brought me more to answer so I’ve been writing most of my time since. I stood guard Monday night at the R.R. switch. Barger has been sick for a couple of days & I have stayed pretty close with him. I let him have my bunk & blanket last night. We took him to the hospital this morning. Our sentries took in 9 men with 4 bolos last night. Today the men found a K.V. rifle with bags net on, hid in the grass out where they got the niggers last night. Two of the niggers are claimed to be officers, a captain & a lieutenant
