Very early this morning we heard cannon fire toward the direction of Iloilo and Jaro and at about 7:00 a.m. two planes passed overhead near us. I have just heard from a reliable source that the Japanese tried to surround the army that was outside of Jaro. The Japanese tried to land by sailboat and surround them, but were forced to retreat by our soldiers.
