Manila, Luzon Island –Entry made in parlor of No. 2 Calle Santa Elena, Tondo.

The newspapers contained nothing today re recommencement of hostilities between the United States and Spain.

The “American Soldier” of present date published a paragraph re the rapid sale of our Chinese War Crys by Landon to the Celestials. By mistake it says I sold them.

Went ahead with the article for the Australasian S.A. publications descriptive of the Philippines.

On the streets dealt with several U.S. soldiers personally about salvation. Called at the post office twice hoping to receive letters arranging meetings on the war vessels but was disappointed.

Weather cool; several light shower.

Breakfasted on fried bacon cornmeal mush & cocoa & banana. Dinner jelly, bread, lemonade & bananas. Supper mush, bacon, lemonade & bananas.

Observed the ceremony over the remains of a prominent person in Binondo (Rosario) Roman Catholic Cathedral.

Held a prayer meeting at night in No. 2 Calle Sta. Elena. Aud. 6.
