Manila, Luzon Island –Entry made in parlor of No. 2 Calle Santa Elena, Tondo.

Weather a little close. Cloudy but no rains. Had my mosquito bar patched by this Filipino family down stairs. Give them work for they are poor. Stayed at home all day to find time to write. House work makes a large hole in my time. I regret this but cannot help it.

Rewrote the 5 page (MS) article intended for the Melbourne publications (S.A.) with ink. Sent a letter with it to the Com’d’t H.H. Booth & 4 photographs (1) Filipino Fruitseller (girl) of Manila; (2) Milkmen of Manila; (3) mouth of the Pasig giving view of shipping; (4) Negritos.

Wrote a letter to Lt. Col. Wm Evans & copied it, acquainting him with the fact that Com’d’t H. Booth claims the Philippines as his territory & inquiring what disposition to make of S.A. Pacific Coast Divisional property. Gave a list of the same.

Visitors at No. 2, 5.

Private Ed. Stockton & Private Otto Georgeson paid their 1/10 to the Lord the former of Co. 1st Colorado & latter of L. Co. 1st South Dakota Vol. Inf. Praise God for his goodness.

Commenced another write-up of my experiences for the S.F. War Crys, No. 563, Sept. 10th ’98 for distribution in Cos. B. & H.
