Manila, Luzon Island –Entry made in parlor of No. 2 Calle Santa Elena, Tondo.

The typhoon cleared away last night; today the weather was cool & sky comparatively cloudless. Cooked breakfast & supper & ate a cold dinner. Catalogued books & pamphlets – almost all Spanish.

Made 3 trips to tour (1) to post office. Got an armful of War Crys in different languages. The American S. A. press is giving me much space.

Rev. Chas. Owens notified me that he would occupy 2 rooms. Rent is 1/3 of $35. Mex. per month. He bought his goods to No. 2. Owns quite a large lot.

Found a note on my table from Eletom to call at the Port Captain’s Office at abt 4.30. Did so; met him there. Wanted to find a Miss Kuhn who came from Yokohama today.

Took supper with me, did E. Brought a pile of food. After supper we visited the Red Cross Hospital. English Hotel & Hotel de Orient to find her but failed.

Visitors today 9.
