Food conservation necessary and two meals per day, with breakfast at ten AM, and evening meal at five PM. We have no butter. Gave another talk to all hands as I wish to keep everyone informed as the situation develops. Another Japanese committee called; they come about every hour, ask the same questions and don’t seem to ever get together. Nc decisions are given and they leave. The Staff is dressed in white except the officers, who are in khaki. A Japanese sentry has been posted directly across the street from our main gate. All day cheering from the Japanese internees who have not yet been released as the Japanese forces enter the city. Red Cross personnel are detained at the Bay View Hotel.
