All stay home. It i perfectly all right for the servants to come and go, so the Captain who was here yesterday said for us to send to market for things in the way of food. Every morning we send the boy to market, where he gets greens and fruits and whatever he can find there for us. Another friend sent several beers and a carton of cigarettes. Oscar and Ada were taken late this afternoon, and we are packed and ready to go when we are called. Sam and Pauline went at eleven o’clock so the servant says. The Salets have also gone. My lavendera failed to show up so today Priscilla has taken on the job. But there really is not much to do as we keep clean. We eat, rest, read and. play cards, Esten is learning her numbers by playing “Fish”.
