A before-breakfast expedition in e truck from L.B. Acquired lard and flour. Then had sick call after breakfast of rice, oatmeal, and sweetened, pondered milk. Then a lunch of very good soup, biscuits, and tea. Best lunch in many months. After lunch took a detail of 24 men for shirts and fatigue clothes. Met two Japanese who asked for watches and pineapple, but gave us permission for the clothes. Then another detail down to Motor Pool to investigate filled foxholes. Turned out to be latrines. Found gunny sack of black pepper. Now writing, then dinner, and then another foraging expedition.
