Afternoon rains are here. It is our third wet season. There was quite a gale last evening. Jerry carried our table into the dugout and I hemmed and hung the rest of the furoshikis—six on the wall and one as a tablecloth. With nipa covering the tin on the outside, it is not unattractive There is a board on one side as settee and Jerry has put my steamer rug on top of canvas and nipa which makes a comfortable springy couch terraced out of earth. The gay colored Japanese squares and the reed sticks will give it a strong Nipponese look.
