As part of our training at school, we ran about 6 or 7 kilometers at double time from Kudan Hill to the Imperial Palace and back through Hibiya Park, about 40 minutes’ running. I thought I would not make it, and I think it was sheer amor proprio that kept my legs going. This is the first time since Malacañan that we ran at double time for such a long distance.
