About the author: Leonard Wood (October 9, 1860 – August 7, 1927) doctor, soldier, colonial official. Governor of the Moro Province, 1903-06; commanded Philippine Division, 1906-08; Govenror-General of the Philippines from 1921 to his death in 1927.
