After hard marching we arrived at Angot [Angat] about 40 miles from Manila. We are without rations and it is raining most all the time. I am in charge of the kitchen such as it is We have one Boiler and two kettles and a large pan–the rest has been lost. A native guide lost us on purpose yesterday, but he lost his life for it.
Foraging is in order now too, but the country has been pretty well cleaned by the insurgents.
