We have received orders to go to Manila as soon as we can get ready. Consequently work is being resched so that we can get away in a week if possible. Six ships, including the Brooklyn have been ordered to Manila also.

A second landing party was sent ashore during the past week. It attacked the enemy in an open field. On the 2nd I was transferred from deck duty, where I had been doing the duties of watch and division officer, to duty in the engine room.

The Marblehead and Badger are at the yard. The Solace34 has arrived from Manila via Yokahama.
