Dec. 6th, 1899

We started back to San Fernando (The Cpt & his Macabebe, McCalister [McCallister], The Taylors, M’s Barber & Myself). We got to Montinario Dalilupilan Dinalupihan in time for dinner (had ducks for dinner), rested the mules a while & then went on. Another wagon with two guards & 4 sick men joined us for the rest of the trip. During the afternoon a lone nigger posted himself and a gun out of the bush but C. Taylor cracked at him once and he forgot that he wanted to shoot at us. Two of the mules gave out this P.M. & we left them in the road. We are camped tonight in a big rice threshing barn at Sabut.
