Went to the Sports at five with Judge Carson. Had to hurry home to go out to dinner with Capt. Horton on Siberia. Drove to the Luneta with him and then to Anda Monument, where we took the launch. Annie, Capt. Cosby, Marjorie and Cootes went. Capt. Smith was most genial and we had a good time. Good dinner and sang afterward on deck. I would enjoy travelling on the Siberia.

The author is unknown, except for some details: she was a niece of Henry Clay Ide, and stayed with her cousins Annie and Marjorie Ide in Manila. At the time the diary was written, Henry Ide was Vice Governor-General of the Philippines.
