My last weeks in Lingayen were made very pleasant by Mrs. Gray & Mr. Brown who quite devoted themselves to entertaining me. Unfortunately the pleasant impression was spoiled by the fact that when they found some one else to talk to in Manila they quite ignored me. As I had not had many illusions on the subject it did not trouble me much and I had a delightful visit at Mrs. Odlin’s. Dr. McBean came down from Los Baños to see me & took me to this concert on the Luneta. On April 8 Peggy and I left Manila in the Siberia and arrived in Hongkong two days later.
