Spent the morning in the house getting everything packed and put away. Last night the air-raid siren sounded and we took our mattresses downstairs to the kitchen. When the all-clear sounded we went back to sleep –nothing having happened. About half an hour later, we were wakened by violent bombing. Nichols Field and McKinley were bombed.

At noon, Mrs. Stagg asked Mother if we would not like to go to her Evacuation Camp in Tay-Tay, Rizal. We agreed and left at around 5:00. Erline and the Lazagas are there.
