Dinner for President Takeshi Watanabe who leaves on retirement on the 25th of this month. Gave him some books and book ends.
Played nine holes for the ist time in two weeks.
Cabinet meeting from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Received Minister Shaomi brought by Amb. Orabe to transmit the thanks of the Japanese government formally for the help our government have extended them in the search of the remaining Japanese straggler Lt. Oreska in Lubang Island. I informed him that there were reports of other stragglers in Mt. Halcon, Mindoro Oriental where some kaingero have been sighted with plantings that Mangyans do not make.
The cabinet meeting took up Land Reform, Cooperatives, Prices, Budget requirements and the business policies on expropriations (IISMI, Elirol, Meralco, PLDT, NAWASA, PNR) taxes, wages, credit.
