Pasan de mano en mano por la población copias de tan bello documento y con esta ocasión recibimos visitas de personas de importancia que vienen a enterarse de lo que hay sobre el particular. Desgraciadamente la victoria y el telegrama son invención de gente despreocupada. Los yanquis rompen el cable telegráfico de Manila a Visayas.
The wonderful news is spreading throughout Manila that the Jesuits have received a telegram that tells of a great naval victory in Cuban waters. Copies of such a beautiful document pass from hand to hand through the population and on this occasion we receive visits from important people who come to find out what there is on the matter.
