We were up at 5 am. preparing to go shore and left the steamer at 3.30 p.m. We landed at Cavite at 4.30 p.m. and I went on guard at 5.30 p.m. There was heavy rain, thunder and lightning. We had spent thirty-seven days aboard ‘Peking’ -— thank God we are off her!
