Sunday. Helped sing for the chaplain. A party out to “see” where the niggers were and jumped them ¼ mi. along shore. Fired a few volleys. Splendid dinner –cake, oysters, bread, pineapples and cheese. Two letters from home, very hot today. Wonder what Topsy is doing today –for it is Sat. The “bolo” attack the Spaniard spoke of has failed to materialize so far.
