I think the rainy season must be near its last stages. In the last week it has only rained occasionally, mostly at night. The roads are drying up. The wind comes occasionally from the northwest, which indicates that the monsoons are changing. Here the wind blows always from the southwest in the rainy season and the northwest the rest of the time. The typhoons come when the monsoons are changing. Nothing all day. Studied “Root’s,” a great resource. Had some washing done, fifteen cents. I am beginning to know the wily Filipinos. Last time they charged fifty cents.
