I have been so busy the past few days in our bamboo but that I have neglected my diary. We, the Lapham family and I, are homesteading here on the river bank in the wilderness of Bataan. The Lapham children are adorable and well-behaved. The puppy, “lady”, and the kids have a grand time playing together. I never thought that I’d enjoy sleeping with a dog at my feet, but I do, for she keeps my feet warm and barks at the carabaos that come near our hut.
