In accordance with yesterday’s proclamation, I went to the Normal School, where the offices of the Ministry of Instruction are located, to present the books used in Letran College. I talked with Mr. Celedonio Salvador, the new Director of Public Schools. I congratulated him for his new position though actually it was more of a demotion, as he was formerly the Secretary of Education. His response was courteous and enthusiastic. When I asked him about the future of the private schools, he replied that many of the provisions were recommended by him and that each school should apply for an individual permit.
