It is reported that Japs in Walled City surrendered; I got a pass and went with Private Henry Lanigan of the First Cav. Div., by jeep, truck, ambulance, banca, and much walking to the war torn district East and Southeast, Queson [Quezon] City, San Juan, and Mandaloyan [Mandaluyong], to every Hospital we could find, out as far as the firing line; the wounded from Walled City were arriving at Mandalayon [Mandaluyong] Hospital, I knew some of them, a terrible sight; no record of Arthur.

(1877 — 1950). Veteran of Spanish-American War; served in Immigration Service; Senior Administrative Assistant in the Manila Base Quartermaster Depot. Married to a Filipina, he was eventually interned in Santo Tomas.
