Guagua and Santa Rita were attacked last night. They are only three or four miles away and the firing, rifles, machine and field guns, was plainly audible. As usual, the insurgents were repulsed. Have not heard our loss. Drew till 9:30 A.M. The Q.M. Dept. is building the railroad and is doing it very badly and slowly. Have not got to Angeles yet and it is only twenty kilometers from here. Never think of preparing a bridge until they get to the stream. Bringing the Chino laborers back here from bevond Collulit to meals. No one knows why they do not let the Engineers do it.
