Gen S calls for me. He tells me not to quit even if everybody quits. He says he did not have anything to do with letter except in general conference. He did not know the details. I asked him about the letter having been referred to the Pres. He says the letter was not referred. He says that after McA has found our reaction he will lay it before the President. He tells me about the future of any outstanding man, that nobody can down one, but I said that this is possible if the opportunity is furnished him. He also called Baclig and Gomez. I suggested that they handpick the men they want, give them rank and pay and discharge the rest.
