Muster –inspection &c in a.m. In p.m. Sergts Coombs, Huckins, Corp Welch, Musicians MacKay and Eldridge & Private Woods, sang in Y.M.C.A. tent close to Ponto de Espanol [Puente Espana]. Many encores. Then to Alhambra where we were taken in tow by two boys, and then until the new year was some hours of age –we had a jolly good time. One place we serenaded was full of officers & ladies –good cheer & a splendid lunch. Then to Club de Filipino where there was a swell ball and we stood under the shadow of the iron church towers, as the chimes were ringing the old year out & the new year in. Were treated to the best of everything wherever we went. Saw the 2nd Amer. last eve at YMCA –in 3 months. Went home at 3 a.m.
