A ship from the United States delivered the following telegram. It was received in San Francisco, Boston, Massachusetts, on 29 March 1901. It reads:
“Mabini, Care Military Governor, Guam
“Aguinaldo captured. I am wiring him so he can petition American authorities to send him to America with you. Please inquire from authorities there.”
I was asked if I wanted to go to the United States. I said no due to my poor health and lack of knowledge of the English language.
On the other hand, I thought it was better not to answer the telegram and forger about it.
