My birthday. The Presidente sent me a big turkey from his hacienda and sent his own cook over to dress it. Turkey á la Filipino is not really turkey but it was good. First he took out all the skeleton and then chopped the meat up with beans, potatoes, raisins and spices then fried it four hours in the dish pan. Afterwards he took it to the bakers to be browned. We invited the Presidente, Señor Moreno & Señora Vicenta to dinner. They were much impressed by the American manner [portion excised]
