The weather is as pretty as ever. All night we listened to the cannonading and musketing of the Spanish and insurgents because they always fight at night. The natives say it is too hot to fight in the daytime. Today a British vessel came into the bay loaded with fresh meat and vegetables. We are all getting impatient to get ashore because we are tired of being kept like prisoners. Three men are sick, the rest are well. Most of us sleep on deck again.
