Todos los filipinos llevan dos domingos sin venir. Rizal estuvo la otra tarde y me dijo que él no había venido por los exámenes, en que ha salido bien, en todo. El pobre está muy entusiasmado y lo siento; el entusiasmo dicen que es contagioso y yo no puedo contagiarme.
Me mortifica bastante el que tan pronto se hayan olvidado de mí por unas cualquieras que según mis noticias ni bonitas son, pero me guardaré bien de hacerlo ver para que no se pongan huecos pensando otra cosa, y por si es cálculo como me figuro.
For two Sundays all the Filipinos haven’t come. Rizal was here the other afternoon and he said he had not come on account of the examinations and that he came out well in every one of them.
