It has rained all night and most of us had to lay in two to three inches of water all night and a good many of our dog tents blew down during the night. In the morning most of us went out to get bamboo to make some kind of bed so we can keep dry as it rains constantly. Our camp is, at present, more fit to bathe in than to sleep in. It is a wonder to me that we are not all sick. We are expecting the third expedition and the grapevine is worked to death as all of us are looking for mail on the transports. We have three men on the sick list: Hum, [Ray] Rush and [Jacob] Landis.
