It was reported that Insurgents killed three men from the Battery of the 3rd US Artillery in the trenches last night. We received orders to be ready to go to the front at any moment; we each received 130 rounds of ammunition and shelter tents. Everything was declared quiet at 8 p.m. The trouble apparently originated between two parties of Insurgents. Every time we receive mail we seem to be sure to be called out! The medical team reported that 1100 men were in hospital at this date, mostly with ulcerated legs and arms.
