Saturday, October 8th, 1898

This is a verry hot day we have to suspend drills on account of it and only have a Battalion drill in the Evening we hear all Kinds of Rumors about us going home in November even the “amerikan Soldier” says that we would goe home in November between the 6 x 10. christopher Baird Dougherty Miller and Cuite remain on the sick List Collrbean Palmer left for U.S.A.

Even the “American Soldier” says that we will go home in November between the 6th and the 10th. [Frank] Christopher, [James] Baird, [Homer] Daugherty, [George] Miller and [Gilbert] Cuite remain on the sick list. Collrbean Palmer left for the U.S.A.
