This is a beautiful morning. We have regular drills and fresh meat for dinner and supper. The boys are still celebrating pay day. A good many are getting mail and postal money orders ready for the mail which leaves in the morning. And most of us are buying maps of the battlefield which are sold at 25 cents U.S.C. (U.S. Currency). [The maps] are very correct (accurate). We also receive news that the US will very likely hold all of the Philippine Islands. [Charles] Herrington and [Frank] Hustead are on the sick list. [Joseph] Frankenberry is discharged from the Hospital. This leaves John Baird, Fred Jennewine, David Twist and Sam Hagan at the General Hospital.
