Up at 7:00, — & after breakfast went to Baguio & poked around market till 11:00. Then to silver place (convent; high prices) & back to lunch. Shoved off at 2:00 for Manila & got to boat at 8:00. Beautiful ride down the gorge. Had daylight till 5:45 — very good road most of the way. Mira miserable with a rotten cold. Very mild & sunny in Baguio — same feeling in the air as ever — bracing & yet warm enough to just sit — same views down the valleys, — but the lanterns are now Red, White, & Blue, & everybody wears shorts. Saw Jimmy Love; he’s coming to Peking again.
