16710:50 AM 4/10/421544/11/42 2 AMMen frantic for water. One Filipino went hormentado [juramentado] and was beaten at Cabcaben. Road cluttered with troops and vehicles. Marched off the road over rough ground. Halted for 3 hrs. Tried to sleep in a ditch beside the road.

1545 AM 4/11/42Orani1 AM 4/13/42Was fed 8 oz. rice. The only food we got during the entire march. There was a shortage of water at all times. The men were not allowed to fall out when we passed artesian wells. The heat was terrific.
