October 25, 1944

The day was quiet – towards evening several Japanese planes flew over.

Jr. is now ill with a cold and fever. It seems to be an epidemic. Dolly is better today and I am improving.

Last night we were awakened by the shouts of the Japanese Patrol requesting us to keep Budigoy from barking. They had heard him barking and investigated, but did not see anyone, so they decided it was no good for him to bark at nothing. I guess the little fool was barking at the moon.
