Having covered 20 leagues, we arrived at an island late. They said that it was the Ladrones Island. Sixty paraos came out to receive us two leagues out in the sea, some signaling us to anchor at their place and the others, at theirs. We arrived at sunset at the eastern part of the island where we saw many people by the sea; we found no place for anchorage. We had to go to the western part to anchor.
