This is a lovely day. We have muster roll and inspection in the morning. We all sent mail on the Australia which leaves this morning direct for “Frisco.” I also visited our sick at the hospital and find them improving. Sickness seems to be a little on the decrease. The heavy rain keeps the air cool and more comfortable. The hospital is near the bay and a good breeze is blowing constantly from the bay. We have parade in the evening. [Charles] Herrington, [George] Conn and S[amuel] Rockwell are on the sick list.
