We left for Bacolod aboard a schooner at 11.30 a.m. and arrived at Iloilo the next day at 6 p.rn. We went alongside the steamer ‘St. Paul’ in a typhoon. There was terrible thunder, lightning and rain and we were wet to the skin in a few seconds. The steamer left at 11.30 p.m. and drifted all night.
