Back to Collulit [Calulut] to join my map to the railroad. Had a guard. Warned us at the outpost that the niggers were round. Had driven in the outposts at Angeles, and at Collulit [Calulut] they had three companies out for them. Saw the rebels same place as yesterday. Guard did not want to go on. Did. Came back the San Fernando road. Mapped about one-third of it when the rain became too heavy. Passed native villages, some inhabited with scowling natives, some deserted. Passed abandoned barricades and sand-bag forts, and finally, about 5 P.M. were glad to strike our outposts at San Fernando.
