We walked all night and arrived at # 2 at 7:40 AM. tired, hungry and clothes torn. Had only 1 raincoat, 1 gas mask, 1 officer’s medical kit. Had breakfast and tried to sleep but was unable to do so because of noise created by enemy planes. Everybody in a state of excitement & apprehension. Nurses left for Corregidor at 10:00 PM. Attempt by USFIP to establish a new line at Trail 18 which had not been previously reconnoitered.
