[Fay C. Bailey’s 45th Birthday]: A very nice B’day in STIC. Presents from Althea toilet supplies and Granger tobacco. Tobacco and matches from the Hamiltons. A jar of Fred’s jam. Cakes from many of the “boys”. Valles, Gutierrez, Ygoa, Romero, Candelita Carvajal. Felipe and Gregorio sent ice cream and cakes. Rumors persist regarding bombings in Japan and Europe. Reports of war prisoners and civilians being marched in from Bataan. Red Cross not allowed to give help.
